A strong podcast session begins with deliverables. Decide whether you need a full episode, video clips, guest portraits, vertical social content, or all of the above. That list determines the room layout, camera plan, and schedule.
Prepare the conversation without scripting it
Share the topic, structure, and key questions with guests in advance. A simple outline keeps the conversation focused while leaving room for natural follow-ups.
- Opening and closing language
- Three to five core topics
- Names and titles for on-screen graphics
- Calls to action
- Potential short-form moments
Design one adaptable set
A clean base set is easier to reframe for wide, medium, and vertical shots. Keep props intentional, leave separation between guests and the background, and avoid visual elements that only work from one camera angle.
Build time for resets
Do not schedule every minute as recording time. Leave room for audio checks, guest arrival, wardrobe adjustments, and a quick set reset if you want additional content after the main conversation.
